Egoss1 (egoss1.com) is a cloud-based electronic bound book system. The export runs from the Dashboard with straightforward filter options.
What Orchid Does With This File
Orchid eBound imports your on-hand firearms from Egoss1 and links them to your POS inventory. Disposed records stay archived in Egoss1.
Before You Start
- Decide which bound books to include (if you have multiple).
- Make sure all pending acquisitions are entered before exporting.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Sign in to Egoss1.
- From the Dashboard, click the Export button.
- Select "Firearms On Hand". Do NOT check "Disposed Firearms" — Orchid only imports open records.
- Select all applicable books.
- Leave the date range fields blank (this captures all on-hand items regardless of acquisition date).
- Click Export.
- The file downloads as a .csv to your Downloads folder.
Expected File Format
CSV file. Do NOT open in Excel and save.
Expected Columns
- Manufacturer / Importer
- Model
- Serial Number
- Type
- Caliber / Gauge
- Acquisition Date
- Acquired From (Name, Address, FFL)
- Book Name
- Notes
Watch Out For
- Make sure "Disposed Firearms" is unchecked — Orchid only migrates open records.
- If you have multiple bound books, selecting all of them exports everything into one file.
- Leave the date range blank to capture all on-hand firearms.
CSV Warning: Do NOT open exported CSV files in Excel and save them. Excel silently strips leading zeros from serial numbers and FFL numbers, converts long numbers to scientific notation, and reformats dates. If you need to inspect the file, open it in a plain text editor or use Data > From Text/CSV in Excel with columns set to Text.
