Gunshop Software is an electronic bound book and compliance system. The export runs through the Acquisition/Disposition Records Grid report.
What Orchid Does With This File
Orchid eBound imports your open firearms from Gunshop Software. The export uses the A&D Records Grid report filtered to in-stock items.
Before You Start
- The export uses the report grid view — you'll need to filter to in-stock items.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Sign in to Gunshop Software.
- Navigate to Reports > Arms Related > Acquisition / Disposition Records Grid.
- In the report grid, scroll right to find the "Status" column.
- Filter or scroll down to select "InStock" items only.
- Click the application logo (top left corner) and select Export to Excel.
- Name the file with your store name and date (e.g., "MyStore - Export - 05252026").
- Save as Excel Workbook (.xlsx).
Expected File Format
Excel Workbook (.xlsx).
Expected Columns
- Manufacturer / Importer
- Model
- Serial Number
- Type
- Caliber / Gauge
- Acquisition Date
- Acquired From (Name, Address, FFL)
- Status
- Notes
Watch Out For
- Do NOT use slashes in the filename — use dashes or spaces for dates.
- The Status column filter is key — make sure you're exporting only "InStock" items for migration.
- The export button is under the application logo (top left), not in a menu bar.
CSV Warning: Do NOT open exported CSV files in Excel and save them. Excel silently strips leading zeros from serial numbers and FFL numbers, converts long numbers to scientific notation, and reformats dates. If you need to inspect the file, open it in a plain text editor or use Data > From Text/CSV in Excel with columns set to Text.
