Consignment Items and "Deactivated" / NLA Status

When a consignment item is received into Orchid POS, the system automatically marks it as NLA (No Longer Available) and moves the stock to "Held for Consignment." This is normal, expected behavior and does not require any action.

What Does NLA Mean on a Consignment Item?

NLA stands for "No Longer Available." When applied to a consignment item, it tells the system that this product should not be reordered through the normal purchasing workflow. This prevents consignment items from appearing in your Parts to Order list alongside regular inventory.

Does This Affect My Ability to Sell the Item?

No. The NLA status has no impact on your ability to list or sell the item. The item remains fully available for sale in your POS and on your eCommerce site. The only thing NLA changes is how the item appears in your purchasing workflow.

Why Does the System Do This?

Without the automatic NLA flag, every consignment item you receive would show up in your Parts to Order list. If you process consignments regularly, this can result in hundreds of items cluttering your purchasing workflow, making it difficult to identify the products you actually need to reorder from your distributors.

The NLA flag keeps your purchasing process clean and manageable.

What You Will See in the System

• Item Details. Item marked as NLA (No Longer Available)
• Inventory. Stock listed under "Held for Consignment"
• Parts to Order. Item will not appear (this is intended)

When to Contact Support

The NLA status on consignment items is normal and does not indicate a problem. You should only contact support if:

• A non-consignment item has been incorrectly marked as NLA
• A consignment item is not appearing in your POS or on your eCommerce site for sale
• Stock is not showing under "Held for Consignment" after receiving a consignment item
