Planned Maintenance: Orchid eBound — Sunday, April 12 – Monday April 13
We will be performing a scheduled database upgrade on Orchid eBound beginning Sunday, April 12 at 11:00 PM EST through approximately Monday, April 13 at 4:00 AM EST.
During this maintenance window, Orchid eBound will be unavailable. All users should plan to log out and refrain from using the application during this timeframe.
API Users: If you submit transactions via the eBound API, please contact our support team as soon as possible to discuss alternatives for any transactions that would normally be posted during the maintenance window.
We appreciate your patience as we make this upgrade to improve the platform. If you have any questions, please reach out to our support team.

Orchid eBound
Bound Book Template Update
The Upload Transactions template has been updated so the sub-model field now appears at the end of the core bound book details. Upcoming bound book exports will also reflect this change, making it easier to copy and paste between templates without needing to reorganize fields.
e4473 Workflow Improvement
The e4473 workflow now prevents users from leaving the final 4473 screen after selecting “yes” to transfer associated serial numbers. If a user attempts to exit, a message will appear warning that changes may not be saved and asking if they still want to leave the screen.
Washington SAFE Error Messaging
For Washington SAFE users, the e4473 software now provides clearer error messages. If invalid data or an outdated API token prevents a SAFE check, users will see an error message with a Trace ID to share with support, eliminating raw code errors and making troubleshooting easier.

Age Gate Options
You can now customize the age requirement displayed in your site’s age gate. Previously fixed at 18, this setting can now be adjusted to any age between 16 and 25 within the Site Title and Analytics section of your eCommerce settings.

· eState & Orchid eCommerce Integration
o Orchid eCommerce will soon include enhanced eState integration to improve compliance handling for restricted items. Stores will be able to control whether restricted items are allowed for sale, and popups will clearly indicate compliance status. Items involving roster or shipping requirements are handled correctly, and restricted items are automatically removed or highlighted as appropriate. These updates ensure a consistent, reliable process for managing restricted items at checkout.
· CA & NY Compliance
o Orchid POS and eCommerce will soon enforce CA and NY state shipping rules. A new product-level flag identifies barrels and blanks, and checkout now requires ZIP code entry to determine if items must ship through a state-specific FFL. Non-firearm items can ship normally.
o Additional Colorado controls will follow this release.

Orchid POS
GunBroker Integration Improvements
During a recent GunBroker-internal timeout issue, we used the opportunity to strengthen our integration for more reliable listing and order management. Listings now automatically stay in sync with your current stock, preventing overselling, and items removed in Orchid are properly reconciled on GunBroker, so all sales generate invoices accurately. FFL information is now correctly recognized for both old and new formats, removing the need for manual updates.

FFL information is now correctly recognized for both old and new formats, removing the need for manual updates.
Reminder: Invoices created from GunBroker sales can now be voided directly in Orchid. A confirmation popup allows you to decide whether to trigger the GunBroker API, giving you more control over order management and avoiding accidental cancellations.
Quick Add Field Fixes
The Quick Add form now correctly allows Manufacturer and Caliber fields to be entered or edited. This ensures accurate product data during item creation and prevents incorrect pre-population from vendor information.
FFL Transfer Invoice Fix
Transfer fee items now behave as non-serialized, eliminating errors during checkout and allowing invoices to be completed without requiring a serial number.
Report Accuracy Enhancements
Reports now display salesperson information correctly on invoices. The POS to eBound reconciliation report has also been improved to accurately account for serial numbers held for layaway, giving you confidence in your data.
Time Clock Feature
A new time clock feature has been added to track employee hours directly in Orchid POS. This feature can be accessed through your store configuration settings, making workforce management easier.
P12 Workflow Enhancements
The P12 workflow has been updated for increased flexibility and compliance:
- Enter a custom purchase document number, either manually or via auto-fill.
- Restrict P12 usage to applicable firearm types (handguns and frames).
- Map barrel length to item data for improved tracking.
- Configurable print preview toggle during dispositions and acquisitions.
- Receipts now include detailed item information (barrel length, color, and caliber), enabled by default for NY P12.
Manager Override Enhancements (BETA)
Manager override is now an assignable access level, giving you flexibility in controlling permissions. A new toggle for non-inventoried items allows staff to adjust pricing freely without requiring manager approval, while inventory items continue to follow standard override rules.

· Live Vendor Feed dedication. We will be focusing on live vendor feeds in the upcoming roadmap to provide stronger, more efficient data management.
