What Orchid Does With This File
Standard customer-list import.
Before You Start
- Cervelle documents that they support customer-list export to CSV (compatible with Excel, MailChimp, etc.).
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open Merchant Magic.
- Look for a Customer Export option in the Reports or Tools menu (exact location varies by version).
- Run the export.
- Choose CSV.
- Save the file.
- If the option isn't visible in your version, call Cervelle support - they have a documented CSV customer export.
Expected File Format
CSV (compatible with Excel and MailChimp per Cervelle's docs)
Expected Columns
- TODO: confirm. Expected: Customer ID, First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State, Zip, Phone, Email, Purchase History summary (trade-ins, transfers, direct buys, refunds, repairs, consignments), Marketing Opt-In, Notes.
Watch Out For
- TODO/CONFIRM: exact menu path with Cervelle support.
- Cervelle's customer record is rich - it tracks trade-ins, transfers, direct buys, refunds, repairs, and consignments per customer. Orchid carries the summary; transaction history requires the separate A&D History export and Layaway/Special Order exports.
