Rapid Gun Systems (RGS) runs on the NCR Counterpoint platform. The bound book export uses Counterpoint's Filtered Bound Book report with a custom filter configuration.
What Orchid Does With This File
Orchid eBound imports your open firearms from RGS/NCR Counterpoint. The export requires configuring a disposition date filter to capture only undisposed items.
Before You Start
- RGS runs on NCR Counterpoint — the export uses Counterpoint's report infrastructure.
- You'll need to configure a custom filter for disposition date = empty (open items).
- This is the most technically involved export of any bound book system.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Sign in to RGS / NCR Counterpoint.
- From the Home screen, find "Filtered Bound Book" in your Recently Used reports (or search for it).
- Right-click on a blank area and select Customize.
- Find the Disposition Date filter line. Set the comparison to "is empty" — this captures only undisposed (open) items.
- Right-click again and select Simplify, then click Preview to verify the results.
- Click the Export Report icon.
- Set Format to "Separated Values (CSV)" and click OK.
- Accept the default CSV settings. In the Number and Date Format Settings dialog, select both options.
- Name the file with your store name and date (e.g., "MyStore RGS Export 05252026").
- Save the file and send to Orchid.
Expected File Format
CSV via the NCR Counterpoint report export.
Expected Columns
- Manufacturer / Importer
- Model
- Serial Number
- Type
- Caliber / Gauge
- Acquisition Date
- Acquired From (Name, Address, FFL)
- Disposition Date (empty for open items)
- Notes
Watch Out For
- This is the most complex export process — the Customize > filter > Simplify > Preview workflow is unique to NCR Counterpoint.
- The key filter is Disposition Date = "is empty". This captures undisposed (open) items. If you skip this, you'll export your entire historical bound book.
- NCR Counterpoint exports as CSV — do NOT open in Excel and save.
- Make sure to accept both options in the Number and Date Format Settings dialog.
