Q2S7.21 – Sprint-7 4/27/2021
Welcome Screen and Menu Redesign
Upon login to the Orchid Software Portal the user is presented with a left-side navigation and central welcome screen. Users will find a simplified navigation structure including the addition of Orchid eBound quick links and a navigation to Orchid POS (requires separate account). Additionally, the menu navigation structure inside of the Orchid eBound application has been reorganized and simplified. Later this Spring we will complete a holistic modernization and redesign of the Orchid Software portal for ease of use and aesthetic purposes.
User Activity Auditing (Phase 2)
During our last development sprint, we released Phase 1 of a new User Activity Audit feature which provided user and date information pertaining record corrections. In this sprint, we added the same information to all eBound transactions. For all future transactions the username, date and each activity will be presented at the bottom of the serial number Item Detail screen.
FFL Facing, User Denied Error Messages
Section B of ATF eForm 4473 requires the customer to complete several questions regarding the eligibility of purchase. Once complete, the FFL continues with the 4473 starting with Section C. With this redesign, the FFL is presented with “failure” notices at the start of Section C for any customer questions that were answered incorrectly.
Duplicate Entries
A user of Orchid eBound was identified duplicate entries to their Bound Book. The scenario was isolated to their environment and occurred under periods of heavy load where the user rapidly double clicked the “save” button on certain transactions. An additional control was added to prevent this behavior.
Item Detail Search
The Orchid eBound “Item Detail” feature was limited to presenting results applicable to the current book only. The elimination of a multi-book search was to eliminate any confusion for customers who had the same serial number on more than one book assigned to the same FFL.
Enhanced Customer Master File
Two features were added to the customer master file at the request of our clients. One, a checkbox called “Approved to Ship” provided operational users with a visual indicator as to the shipment approval status. Two, a free form notes field for adding important comments about the customer.
Enhanced Part Master File
A “UPC” field was added to the Part Master and is located along-side Item No. / SKU. In future releases, the field will also be added to transactions, upload templates and the API>
4473 In-Progress Enhancement
Two features were added to the 4473 In-Progress Feature. The first appears at the top of the screen and shows the 25 most recent Section A submissions. The second feature displays the Section B kiosk code in the event that the FFL or user forgot the key.
