Release Overview

Q4S2.20 provides new features and enhancements for bulk data entry, export / processing speed, and FFL University access.

Orchid eBound – (New Feature) BATCH Serial Number Entry

The existing batch serial number entry feature which permitted entry of sequential serial numbers has been significantly enhanced. The new feature includes a toggle switch that allows the user to either continue with a sequential entry, or, copy / paste large volumes of non-sequential serial number into the tool. Such information may come from Microsoft Word or Excel, PDF documents, shipping manifests or any other media that permits a user to copy serial number data. Like the existing sequential serial number tool, this new feature requires bulk entry for only one type of firearm at a time so that its regulated characteristics (i.e., type, caliber, etc.) align with the serial number. This feature has been added to the Receive, Serialize, Assemble, Disassemble, FFL Transfer and Exempt Transfer transactions.

Orchid eBound – Direct Access to FFL University

The menu link called “Video University” has been updated to direct users to Orchid’s new on-demand learning platform, FFL University. Separate access is required for entry.

An enhancement was made to enable the system to process serial numbers containing spaces.

Orchid eBound – Disposition of Identical Serial Numbers from Different Manufacturers

Our prior internal controls limited the disposition of identical serial numbers. This has been enhanced to permit such transactions if the manufacturer is different (i.e., indicating that they are indeed separate and distinct firearms).
