Create a Gift Certificate:
Gift certificates are created and managed in the Accounting > Gift Certificates Page
The certificate's value can be specified at time of creation, or at the time of sale.
- Navigate to the Gift Certificates page.
- Click NEW GIFT CERTIFICATE
- Enter gift certificate details.
- Part number and Barcode: Used to sell the gift card.
- Certificate value: The default value when sold (This can be left at 0.00 and customized when sold)
- Gift Certificate Type: (Gift Card or Paper, or Email).
- Gift Card (Plastic Card with a scannable Barcode for the serial number)
- Paper (A paper gift certificate with a written serial number)
- Email (For Orchid eCommerce Gift Card sales - You will want to turn on Website Visibility for these to display on your website.)
- You will want to turn on the toggle for Allow this Gift Certificate usage on the Storefront if you want any of these Gift Options to be used at checkout online.
- Expiration date (if applicable)
- Choose how serial numbers should be enforced.
- Control Enforced: Pre-enter available serial numbers.
- Solicit: Enter serial numbers as each card is sold.
- Auto-Generate: This is selected by default for email type certificates.
- Click CREATE to save your changes.
Now you will be able to enter in the Barcode you created into the Register and sell Gift Certificates!
